Australian
Timber Flooring Association Convention
The major timber flooring event in Australasia staged by the Australian
Timber Flooring Association. The 2008 Convention will feature the National
Timber Flooring Conference, Industry Demonstration, Flooring Trades Demonstration
Program, the ATFA Golf Day and the 2008 ATFA Awards Dinner. The Convention
is trade only and will be of benefit to flooring professionals, builders,
designers, manufacturers, retailers, distributors, and trades people
in the wood and timber flooring industries. The event is free of charge
for those working in the timber flooring, building and architectural
industries.

AUSTimber 2009 carries on the
tradition first established by the Forest Industries
Machinery Exposition in 1972, giving the Forestry
and Timber Industry a venue to convene every four
years for the sharing and gaining of knowledge, experience
and technology. It is an international exposition
now owned and managed by the Australian Forest Contractors
Association, run in conjunction with the Institute
of Foresters, the Australian Sawmilling Industries,
machinery suppliers and the forest growers in Australia. |

Tobacco, Hops and Timber
Festival
The festival started in 1960 as a celebration of the harvest of tobacco
and hops, which were cultivated in the area. The name timber was added
to the festival name in the late 1970s when the extensive local forests
were recognised as vital to the region's economic base. The festival
has endured over the years and established itself as a major regional
event. The Tobacco Hops & Timber Festival is held each Labor Day
holiday weekend. |
